Marine Corps Reserve Association Honors the Fallen at Arlington National Cemetery

ARLINGTON, VA

On Memorial Day, the Marine Corps Reserve Association (MCRA) joined the nation at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Representing the Association and its nationwide membership, Region 4 Director Cullen L. L. Chavis participated in the sacred tradition of laying a commemorative wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

"Standing before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a humbling reminder of the cost of our freedom," said Director Chavis. "It was an absolute privilege to represent the MCRA and our members in paying tribute to these heroes. We pledge to never forget their sacrifice."

The wreath-laying ceremony is one of the military's most reverent protocols, serving as a profound symbol of eternal gratitude. Director Chavis’s participation underscores the MCRA’s steadfast commitment to preserving the legacy of fallen service members—especially the Reserve Marines who have answered the call to duty throughout our nation's history.

By placing the wreath, the MCRA not only honored the unidentified heroes resting in Arlington but also reaffirmed its mission to advocate for living veterans, active Reservists, and military families.
