Thank you for your interest in donating to the Marine Corps Reserve Association. There are a number of ways in which you can support.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at usmcra@usmcra or contact our Director of Development, Dean Castaldo directly at (443) 223-8074.

  1. Estate Beneficiary: Consider including the USMCRA in your family’s estate plans. A simple addition to your will or trust designating a dollar amount or percentage will provide needed resources for future sustainment of the Marine Corps Reserve Association’s critical advocacy and education programs.

  2. Account Designation: Avoid working through an attorney or your financial advisor and include the Marine Corps Reserve Association as a beneficiary of your IRA or brokerage account. For most companies, including Charles Schwab, J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch, this can be achieved within 10 minutes through a self-service form online. You, as the donor, can choose to change your future commitment including revoking it at any time.

  3. Qualified Charitable Distribution: If you are 72.5 years and have a non-Roth IRA, you will very likely have to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMD). This adds to your annual taxable income and could place additional tax obligations on you and your family. Many savvy donors choose to make qualified distributions to non-profits, including the Marine Corps Reserve Association, in the form of a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This means you can satisfy your RMD withdrawal without incurring additional income tax obligation. Often, you simply alert the financial institution of your IRA and share the USMCRA name, address, and Tax ID number.

  4. Matching Gift Program: Many employers offer matching gifts to qualifying non-profits which amplifies the impact of your generous cash donation. Popular employers with robust matching gift programs include, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Bank of America, McKinsey & Co., Delta Airlines, American Express, and many more!

Finally, if you choose to support the Marine Corps Reserve Association through one of the methods above, please let us know! Sharing this information with us ensures we can properly recognize you for your loyal support and honor you as a member of our Semper Fi Society.
