Marine Corps Reserve Association Board Meeting 15-17 May 2009 Quantico, VA This meeting was originally scheduled to be our Annual Meeting, however, the board decided to postpone the Annual Meeting to a later date this year. (In other words, we still have much to do before we are ready for an Annual Meeting.) We welcome any interested members to attend this meeting and provide your input to the proceedings. You need not be a member of the Board to participate. Friday, 15 May and Sunday, 17 May are travel days. No formal events are planned on those dates, however, an informal social event will be held on Friday evening for those present. An informal dinner will be held at the new Globe & Laurel restaurant on Saturday evening. The Board meeting will take place at the General Gray Research Center Members travelling by air are encouraged to arrive and depart at the Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI). Limited MCRA assistance with ground transportation to and from Quantico will be available. Billeting arrangements will be an individual responsibilitty. Numerous billiting options are available at or near Quantico. Meeting Plan The meeting is scheduled to begin at 1000 and end at 1700 with a lunch break at 1200. At 1300 a conference call will begin for those who wish to participate by phone. Topics for discussion include Finance (preparation of a financial statement for the first quarter of this year and outlining a budget for next year's activities), Planing for the activities of next year, Developing a slate of nominees for the annual election of officers, Revisions to the By-laws of the Corporation (Association), and Membership issues. An informal dinner at the Globe & Laurel is scheduled at 1900. Questions about the event may be addressed to hqs@usmcra.org Marine Corps Reserve Association Annual Meeting Originally scheduled for 15-17 May 2009, this required meeting and election of officers will be rescheduled for later this year. Proxy forms for the meeting will be made available on the Website for those unable to attend in person. Your participation, whether by proxy or in person is very important. A dedicated few have managed to bring the Association back from the brink of bankruptsy. We ask you, the membership, to do your part by voting.
