HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARINES!! Marines around the world are commemorating our birth on 10 November 1775. As we did in the Revolutionary War, Marines today continue to fight for the freedoms we enjoy in this great experiment in democracy called the United States of America. We are at the forefront of the price of freedom. We are the elite of those who maintain the eternal vigilance to prevent the loss of the many freedoms we enjoy. Those of us who have had the opportunity to observe other nations first hand recognize the unique character of this great country of ours. We possess the land of opportunity, a land which allows its citizens advance themselves through hard work and determination, and certainly Marines are an example of determination to the extreme. We have demonstrated that determination on the battlefield and earned a reputation as a formidable fighting force. Moreover, we have also been recognized for our humanitarian character as well, helping those who are in need. Enjoy the pride of being a Marine and keep up the good work.
