LtCol Charles Allen, Jr., USMCR (Ret.)
Charley is MCRA's Staff Judge Advocate. He served in Combat Operations in Vietnam as a Forward Observer (FO) with G/3/11 assigned to 3/7. Later in his tour, Charley served as Industrial Relations Officer with the First Marine Aircraft Wing. In civilian life, he is a lawyer engaged in the general practice of law in Roanoke, Virginia. He has been an active member of MCRA/MCROA for over 25 years and is the organization's "Corporate Knowledge." Charley received his JD degree from William and Mary in 1974 and is admitted to practice law in Virginia, the U.S. District Court of Military Appeals and U.S. District court for Puerto Rico. He is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.
Col Victor Bianchini, USMCR (Ret.)
Vic is a Retired Superior Court Judge in the State of California and currently a part-time U.S. Magistrate Judge in Buffalo and Rochester, New York. He has a private mediation practice in San Diego. He has been very active in MCROA/MCRA for 25+ years and has previously served on the Marine Corps Reserve Association Foundation Board of Trustees. Commissioned in 1960, he volunteered for duty in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star with Combat "V". Later, he received the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious service in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Vic has been everything from a General Court Martial Judge to an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at National University and Adjunct Professor of Evidence at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He was also selected as a Fulbright Senior Scholar and was voted Judge of the Year by the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association.
John Culbertson
John was a squad leader/scout sniper in Vietnam. He is currently the President of Culbertson Oil Company in Oklahoma City, OK and a Coldwell Banker Broker for Industrial Real Estate and Commercial Property Management. He is the author of three very successful books on his experiences in Vietnam: Operation Tuscaloosa, Sniper in the Arizona and 13 Cent Killers. John received three Purple Hearts during his service in Vietnam. He is currently Chairman of MCRA's Development Committee.
Ray Ferrero
Ray is the President of NOVA Southeastern University, a position he accepted after many years as a trial lawyer in the State of Florida. His honors are many to include City of Fort Lauderdale "Citizen of the Year" in 2003 and Florida Trend Magazine's "One of Florida's Most Influential Citizens" in 2004. Ray graduated from St. John's University in New York with a BBA in 1955 and entered the Corps as an Officer of Marines ultimately rising to the rank of Captain. He received his law degree from the University of Florida College of Law and Doctorate of Law Honoris Causa from NOVA University College of Law.
Tom Green
LtCol Thomas M. Howlett, USMCR (Ret.)
Tom joined the PLC program in 1960. He received his B.A. in mathematics and M.A. in education from The University St. Thomas. He graduated from The Basic School in 1965 and served for five years and two months on Active Duty, including a tour in Viet Nam. He left Active Duty with orders to join the Reserve unit in Green Bay. In addition to serving in several Reserve units, he also served numerous special assignments, retiring from the Marine Corps Reserve while serving as the senior mathematics instructor for MECEP at MCRD, San Diego. His civilian occupation was in education. At the time of his retirement, he was a member of the IT faculty at Fox Valley Technical College.
Col Alvin Jennings, USMCR (Ret.)
Al graduated from The Basic School in 1960 and served as a Platoon Commander in D/1/8, Executive Officer in H/2/2 and Commanding Officer of Headquarters and Service Company, Second Medical Battalion. He then embarked on a long career in the Reserves and as a member of MCROA and now MCRA. Al's civilian occupation was as a Marketing Executive with IBM from 1963-1993. He traveled extensively both domestically and internationally and was known for his superior leadership seminars. While with IBM, he maintained his position with the Reserve Establishment where he served in a variety of billets, e.g. as the Commanding Officer of E/2/24, Supply Officer and S-4 for 15th Staff Group, Commanding Officer of MWCS-48, and Assistant Chief of Staff G-2 FMFLANT, among others.
Vernon Leubecker
Vern began his Marine Corps Reserve career in the Comm. Section of a unit in Baltimore. The unit was activated during the Korean War. He served in an Artillery Battalion and later a Comm. Company at Camp Pendleton. Upon release from active duty he rejoined the Baltimore unit which later was designated the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, MFR. After a few years as the Comm. Chief, he was appointed a Warrant Officer and became the Battalion Communication's Officer. He served in that position on two occasions spanning a period of twelve years during which he reached the rank of CWO-4. He has been active in MCROA/MCRA at the national level for 21 years. During that time he held three VP positions in the Association, was the MCRA Foundation Manager and currently is serving as the Association's National Executive Director, a position he held on two previous occasions.
Michael Rosenberg
Michael is the Chairman of Taurus Global and an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. He is also the President of NYU's Alumni Society which members 350,000+. Michael received the Silver Star for heroism, the Bronze Star, and Combat Medical Badge in Korea. He has written numerous articles and lectured on the subject of money and banking and serves on the Boards of several public companies.
Col Randolph Sinnott, USMCR (Ret.)
Randy is the President and managing partner of Sinnott, Dito, Moura and Puebla Law Firm of Los Angeles, California. He has been very active in the Reserves and has had combat experience in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. For this service, he received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Combat V and Purple Heart. Randy has been active in MCRA/MCROA for 25 or more years and was once President of MCROA.
John Longfield-Smith
John served in the Marine Corps from 1987-1991 as a technician supervisor. He is an IT expert who has been the Director of Information for three companies in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
SgtMaj Joseph Staudt, USMCR
Joe Staudt began his Marine Corps Career on 11 November 1977 and continues to this day. His early experiences saw him meritoriously promoted to both PFC and Corporal. He made Staff Sergeant as a member of the IRR and attended all the SNCO Courses following his return to the SMCR and promotion to Gunnery Sergeant. Joe was promoted to First Sergeant in 1997 and Sergeant Major in 2000. He saw action in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His current assignment is Reserve Affairs Sergeant Major at HQMC and he is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
William J. Strickland
Bill served in Vietnam as a Marine Rifle Company Executive Officer. He is currently the CEO of McGuire Woods, a large international law firm. Bill has been admitted to the Virginia Bar, the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for Virginia. He was named one of the "Best Lawyers in America" by Woodward and White 2005-2006. He is a Founder of the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
